IB: Expectation Vs. Reality
Doing the IB Curriculum was a decision that I didn’t have a second thought. It just made sense and I didn’t think that it would be challenging. The truth is, I struggled hard in Quarter 1. I had to put more time into studying Math HL than I anticipated. The good news is that I received a mark that I am satisfied with. I enjoyed the process of hard-working.
Joining The Knowledge Society (TKS)
The Knowledge Society(TKS) is a 10-month accelerator program with weekly sessions, that aims to train teenagers to change the world. I really enjoy the learning style at TKS, which is a combination of exponential technologies, real-world skills, networking, character, and mindset. During sessions, I learn about new technologies through discussions, problems, and presentations. I am getting trained on how to learn about complex topics in a short amount of time, and then deliver a TED-style presentation on what I learned. These sessions are highly engaging and not lecture-based. I worked with teams to design solutions to problems around a specific theme. TKS is a comfortable environment for teenagers to find like-minded who are equally passionate about technology and business.

The Idea to Solve a Water Quality Problem
For a month, my team and I have been tasked to consulting for an NGO 501cThree, with bringing water quality sensors to at-risk communities with the water crisis.
After reviewing the data on poverty and issues of trust, we have come to the conclusion that the main barrier for people to obtain a water sensor is money. We have also reviewed the other programs that 501cTHREE is offering such as fresh food and clean energy options to communities of color. Our solution is to bring underprivileged people not only free sensors but everything else that 501cTHREE is offering by providing a solution that eliminates cost.

High School Big Data Challenge by STEM Fellowship
It is through educational systems that some of the brightest minds and innovators are found. However, education and access to it are not uniform. Gender, race, geographical region, socioeconomic status, and citizenship status are all significant, nuanced factors in this discussion.
We are challenged to examine Open Data related to our learning experiences and to bring our results to our teachers, classrooms, and peers. Teams of up to 4 students are provided with datasets, workshops, learning resources, and tools for data analysis. Teams undertake exploratory analysis of socioeconomic and educational Open Data. In the end, we will present our research findings in the form of scientific manuscripts.
